Throughout Scripture we see over and over again where God says His truth will go forward “from Israel” to the nations. Jesus/Yeshua began this work when He sent out His apostles to the nations to make disciples. Today we find disciples of Christ all over the planet, grafted in and joined together with Israel.
As we continue to pray for God to fill the open position of Executive Director of this critical ministry, Heart of God Israel continues to maintain its goal of supporting Israel’s call to be a “Light to the Nations”, a calling that has never changed. Our partnership with Aviv Ministry in Tel Aviv is an important part of this Scriptural mandate as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not only presented to the lost but it is demonstrated with power and love and a yearning to lead the lost men and women in bondage to addictions to a dependency upon the Lord for total freedom as they are led out of darkness into His marvelous light. It is because of this that we consider Heart of God Israel blessed to be able to support a powerful and genuine fruit-bearing ministry in Israel as they reach out to immigrants who have found themselves destitute, homeless, and dealing with a variety of addictions. What makes this ministry unique is that it is the result of one man’s vision to minister to men and women from his own homeland … Ukraine and Russia.
Because Israel’s Law of Return gives Jews and their descendants automatic rights regarding residency and Israeli citizenship, these men and women of Jewish descent have come to Israel but quickly found challenges with language barriers, jobs not being readily available, and what little money they have when they come is soon gone. As you can imagine, they become prime targets for a variety of illegal recruitment in order to simply survive.
Aviv Ministry is a social ministry, working since 2005 in south Tel Aviv and helping street addicts, alcoholics and prostitutes meet their basic needs like food and clothes. Their main purpose, however, is to help these people find full restoration, return to normal life and to their families, become a blessing to others and bear good fruit. Only the Lord can really make all these changes in their lives. That is why, in the day center in Tel Aviv, they actively preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who came to this earth to save sinners, including those who seemed totally hopeless. It is a message that resonates with those most in need.
In the short video below you can see the streets they are working on and the rehabilitation center for men in Beer-Sheva that was opened in 2013. Drug addiction has penetrated all groups of Israeli society, but those Aviv Ministry meets in Tel-Aviv are mostly immigrants from the former Soviet Union, aged 20 to 40. Besides them, they also minister to native Israelis – Jews and Arabs – and other people. However, not only these people benefit from the work in the long run, but also their relatives – wives, children, parents – as well as the whole community itself.

Dr. Price has just concluded his 104st trip to Israel and the lands of the Bible, most of them guiding groups on tours of Israel, Jordan, and Turkey. He started the Tour part of his ministry after studying at the Hebrew University in Israel and seeing how it changed his perspective and realized a need for pastors in particular and believers in general to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the land of Israel and under-standing the Bible in the context of it’s geographic and cultural setting. Our Israel tours are typically limited to one bus (50 people) to keep the tour personal and allow complete access to Dr. Price and his wife Beverlee during the tour. Occasionally, depending on the tour, this limit will increase beyond 50.
