While we wait upon the Lord to fill the open position of Executive Director, Heart of God Africa continues to sponsor children’s education and so much more. We are eternally grateful for this opportunity to share with you what has been happening during the past several months. The Board of Directors has made it a priority to maintain the critical sponsorship programs in Africa so no child/student would be impacted during this season. Currently the following programs continue to be funded by generous and faithful sponsors
- Royal Palace School in Tororo, Uganda, continues to receive support from faithful sponsors. Pastor Steven and his staff work hard to ensure as many children as possible continue to attend class and are blessed with a good education in a Christian atmosphere.
- Eagle Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, also continues to receive monthly support from faithful sponsors. Headmaster David Gathura is working hard to make a way to build a facility that will better house the students and make learning easier while enriching the students’ lives with the Bible-centered curriculum.
- Bet Shalom Child Care Foundation in Kampala, Uganda, is continuing to be supported by some wonderful sponsors. We are so grateful for their continued care of the children.
- Give Me Hope Africa in Mbale, Uganda, is also continuing to be supported by some faithful sponsors. Every cent helps to support these children with special needs.
In addition to the school sponsorships, we have had special projects which have been miraculously funded, meeting needs that were originally thought impossible.
Pastor Ruth Kahawa of Smile Africa Ministries contacted us about being in need of a reliable vehicle. She had done the shopping and knew what she needed to fulfill her tasks associated with the many outreaches she handles to vulnerable children, widows, adolescents, and more. After much prayer, it was determined that we would stand with her in prayer, put together a fundraiser and watch the Lord provide. And, provide He did! It didn’t take long until the full amount came in to provide her with the vehicle she prayed for and the extra expenses necessary to have the vehicle delivered to her door! Many thanks to all who have for this special project! Once again we find God making a way when there seemed to be no way … He truly is a Way-maker!
The annual Pastor’s Conference continues to reach more and more pastors and Christian leaders with guidance and instruction on rightfully dividing the Word of Truth. Although Heart of God Africa is not participating on the ground this year, God made a way (through a generous donor) to help fund the conference while we stand in prayer with Pastor John Privett as he and his team prepare to leave in just a couple weeks.
Thank you to everyone … we cannot say it enough! We are so grateful for your continued participation in Heart of God Africa on many levels, making it possible to continue the work that was begun under previous leadership.
Finally, speaking of leadership … we are accepting applications for Executive Director of Heart of God Africa. This is a ministry with a strong foundation in a blend of evangelism and humanitarian outreaches. We are looking for an individual to meets some very specific requirements:
- The qualified Executive Director (ED) must be a born again believer, actively serving God in his/her local church, community and/or other Christian organizations.
- The qualified ED must have a vision for the evangelism of Africa, a burning passion and desire to see the Word of God exalted while having great compassion for the unique needs found in each area where we are already established.
- The qualified ED must be able to budget, fundraise, personally invest in the ministry (time and finances), provide spiritual oversight, develop and possibly expand the ministry in Africa, enforce financial accountability … and so much more.
- The qualified ED will understand this is a completely volunteer (unpaid) position and will be in a position to invest time and energy into leading this high-potential ministry.
- The qualified ED will have an understanding of and a heart for missions and be willing to travel overseas, lead mission teams, etc., as necessary.
