India Pastors

India PastorsThe heart of Heart of God India is evangelism. Led by the Spirit of God, our pastors are continually ministering and witnessing to those around them, oftentimes enduring physical hardships to spread the Gospel.  Many minister in more than one village which sometimes means a 10-mile trek (or bicycle ride) to another village (or two).  Crossing rivers and climbing mountains are routine for these dedicated men.

Our pastors, many of whom were mockers of the faith before salvation, see it as a privilege to serve the Lord.  One pastor recently told me he used to try to intimidate the pastor when he came to their village.  He told how he was enraged whenever he saw the pastor coming and how he would pick up sticks or stones or whatever was nearby to throw at the pastor to to daunt him.  This same man became ill; the doctors told his mother to prepare for his death.  In her sorrow and fear, this mother called for the pastor to come and pray.  The pastor came to pray, returning daily for the next TWO MONTHS.  God healed this man and he repented and gave his life to the Lord.  The pastor ended up mentoring the man who abused him.  God has turned scorn into a passion for His Word and service; both men are pastors now and continue in faithful and sacrificial obedience to the Lord.
